Requirements

1 . Dog is at least 3 months old until 5 years old

2 . Cats – 6 months to 5 years

3 . Must be healthy & not recently bitten

4 . Bathe the pet before the surgery

5 . Not heavily infested by parasites

6 . Pet owners must provide the following surgical supplies/materials needed in the surgery

7 . SPAY

 1. Distilled water (1L) 1 bot. 

2. Isopropyl alcohol 70% 1 bot. 

3. NSS (500 mL.) 1 bot. 

4.D5LRS (500mL.) 1 bot. 

5. Surgical gloves 1 pr. 7 ½; 1 pr. 6 ½ 

6. Vicryl suture 2-0 2 pcs. (cat) 

7. Vicryl suture 0-0 3 pcs (dog) 

8. Scalpel blade No. 20 1pc.

 9. Butterfly needle G24 1 pc. 

10. Tranexamic acid 500mG/5mL. 1 set 

11. IV line (micro) 1 ampule (dog) 

8 . NEUTER

 1. Distilled water(1L) 1 bot. 

2. Vicryl suture 2-0 1 pc. (cat)

 3. Vicryl suture 0-0 1 pc. (dog)

 4. Distilled Water (1L) 1 bot. 

5. Isopropyl Alcohol 70% 1 bot. 

6. Scalpel blade No. 20 1 pc. 

Procedures

1 . Calls or visits the office to schedule the operation

2 . Brings the dog/cat on the scheduled date to the City Veterinarian’s Office

3 . Gives the necessary information (name, address, age, sex, breed and species) to the assigned recorder

4 . Signs the waiver

5 . Allows his dog/cat for weighing

6 . Pet owner waits while the Veterinarian prepare the pre-anesthetics

7 . Restrains the animal for the administration of the pre-anesthetic drug

8 . Brings their dog/cat to the shaving area

9 . Brings their dog/cat to the surgery table

10 . Waits while the Veterinarian perform the operation

11 . Brings the dog/cat to the recovery area and waits for the animal to recover Pet owner receives the postoperative care advice from the Veterinarian
